Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu's wife Kamlesh Thakur will contest the upcoming Dehra constituency assembly bypoll, as announced by Congress general secretary K C Venugopal after approval from party chief Mallikarjun Kharge. Thakur's candidacy follows a party survey and input from local leaders. She will face two-time Independent MLA Hoshiyar Singh, running on a BJP ticket, in the elections scheduled for July 10.
