As many as 116 people died and 18 were injured in a stampede at a religious event in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, triggered by overcrowding and people rushing to leave after a 'satsang' of Bhole Baba. Eyewitnesses described the chaos as people fell on each other due to uneven roads, leading to some falling into a drain. The incident has left families distraught as they searched for missing loved ones amid the tragedy.
