Kerala has been ravaged by landslides caused by heavy rain, resulting in at least 178 deaths and 190 missing persons. Indian soldiers are constructing a metal bridge to reach the most affected area, Mundakkai. Rising waters and ongoing rain have hampered rescue efforts, but nearly 1,600 people have been saved.
