Ripple Labs has been fined $125 million by a Manhattan court for improperly selling the cryptocurrency XRP. The Securities and Exchange Commission had initially sought $2 billion in penalties. The SEC sued Ripple and its executives for raising $1.3 billion unregistered. Remaining claims against the CEO and co-founder were dropped last month.
