A 35-foot statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Sindhudurg collapsed on Monday. Maharashtra Minister Deepak Kesarkar expressed sadness over the incident and proposed constructing a new 100-foot tall statue to replace it. He indicated plans to discuss the project with the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, along with preparing the necessary estimates.
