India's cabinet committee has approved the procurement of 240 AL-31FP aero-engines for Su-30 MKI aircraft from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited at a cost exceeding Rs 26,000 crore. These engines will feature over 54% indigenous content and be produced at HAL's Koraput division, ensuring the strength and readiness of the Indian Air Force's fleet.
