On Monday, Sumit Antil set a new Paralympic record in the men's javelin throw F64 final at the Paris Games with a throw of 70.59 meters, successfully defending his gold medal from Tokyo. Born in Sonepat, Haryana, Antil was an avid sports enthusiast before a 2015 bike accident led to the amputation of his left leg below the knee. Despite this setback, he returned to sports with the aid of a prosthesis.
