Russia launched a Soyuz rocket carrying two Ionosfera-M satellites to monitor Earth's ionosphere. The rocket also carried 53 smaller satellites, including two Iranian satellites, Kowsar and Hodhod. The Ionosfera-M satellites will join two others planned for launch in 2025, creating a four-satellite system for monitoring the ionosphere at an altitude of 510 miles.
