The Indian Army has taken a major step towards self-reliance in defense manufacturing by inducting 550 indigenously developed 'Asmi' machine pistols into its Northern Command. The 'Asmi', designed for close-quarter combat, is a collaborative effort between Colonel Prasad Bansod, the Indian Army, and the DRDO. This induction aligns with Prime Minister Modi's 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiative, aiming to boost domestic defense production.
