Nearly 1.2 lakh overseas Indians registered as electors for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, with Kerala recording the highest registrations. However, only 2,958 came to vote. Major states like Karnataka, UP, and Tamil Nadu had zero turnout of overseas voters. The Indian government is considering allowing postal and proxy voting for NRIs to increase participation.
