India has detected seven Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) cases. Testing costs between Rs 3,000 and Rs 20,000 in Delhi. HMPV, a respiratory virus, usually causes mild symptoms. Severe complications can occur in infants and older adults. No specific antiviral treatment exists, but severe cases may need hospitalization. Preventive measures include good hygiene and wearing masks.
