Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state during the auspicious phase starting with Makar Sankranti. The official date will be announced later this month. Personnel training for executing the UCC is almost complete. The upcoming urban local body polls are scheduled for January 23.
