Car sales in the local market rose by 4.2% to 4.27 million units last year, driven by demand for sports utility vehicles. Utility vehicles saw a growth of 17% while passenger car sales dipped by 14.4%. The two-wheeler segment also increased by 14.5%. Passenger vehicles and three-wheelers posted their highest-ever sales in a calendar year.
