For the first time, the national flag was unfurled at two locations in Upper Assam, with Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma spearheading the events. Sarma announced significant developmental plans, including Dibrugarh as Assam's second capital and new schemes to support local startups and government employees.
