The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has proposed doubling the rebate on new vehicle purchases to 50% for those who scrap high-polluting BS-II and earlier emission standard vehicles. Currently, the rebate is 25% for personal vehicles and 15% for commercial ones.
