Backward classes form largest chunk of population in Telangana, says caste survey

The caste survey in Telangana reveals that backward classes excluding Muslim minorities constitute 46.25 per cent of the population. This is the largest group among the state's 3.70 crore people. The report, submitted to the cabinet sub-committee, will be debated in a special legislative assembly session.
