Palmer Luckey, the founder of defence technology firm Anduril and the creator of Oculus, has criticised the media coverage of Chinese AI startup DeepSeek, questioning its claim of developing an advanced AI model at a fraction of the cost of its U.S. counterparts. In a Fox Business interview, he accused American media of amplifying DeepSeek’s assertions without scrutiny. Luckey warned that such claims could negatively impact U.S. tech firms and cautioned against uncritically accepting figures that remain unverified.
