The labour ministry plans to seek Cabinet approval for a pension scheme for one crore gig workers associated with online platforms. This scheme will ensure social security contributions from their income per transaction and provide healthcare under PM Jan Arogya Yojana. The e-Shram portal will facilitate worker registration.
