The BJP dominated the Gujarat local body polls, winning 60 out of 68 municipalities, all three taluka panchayats, and the Junagadh Municipal Corporation. The Congress won only one municipality, while the Samajwadi Party secured two. This was the first election with a 27% OBC quota in panchayats, municipalities, and civic corporations.
