In January 2024, the People Liberation Guerilla Army, led by Naxal commander Mandvi Hidma, attacked security forces trying to establish a forward operating base in Bijapur. Subsequent strategies and measures have been implemented to counter Naxal activities, significantly reducing their stronghold in the Bastar region.
