Beginning March 27, the Social Security Administration (SSA) will fully withhold future payments to recover overpayments, replacing the previous 10 per cent deduction policy. This change follows media scrutiny over repayment hardships. Those who received overpayments must repay the entire excess amount before they can receive more benefits.
