Tamil Nadu is expanding its paddy storage capacity by an additional 3 lakh metric tonnes, bringing the total to over 7 lakh metric tonnes. This move comes as the state government reviews operations in Delta districts, with 4,000 Direct Procurement Centres currently active. The Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation procures paddy during the Kuruvai and Samba seasons.
