The National Human Rights Commission has taken note of widespread reuse of cooking oil. Concerns were raised about public health risks and environmental pollution. The NHRC has directed the Union Health Ministry and FSSAI to investigate these allegations. A state-wise report is required. An action taken report is also mandated within two weeks.
