In a move to streamline urban planning, Karnataka's Gram Panchayat areas have introduced fresh regulations for layout approvals. Developers are now required to secure design sanction from official planning bodies before obtaining property identification numbers. Furthermore, layout proprietors are mandated to relinquish public spaces such as streets and parks to the Gram Panchayat authorities.
