Former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin has been sworn in as a minister in the Telangana cabinet. He will contest the Jubilee Hills by-poll. This appointment marks the first minority representation in Revanth Reddy's cabinet. Azharuddin was previously nominated as an MLC but awaits the Governor's clearance. He had unsuccessfully contested from Jubilee Hills in the 2023 polls.
