Report: Slough Town 1 Farnborough 1

Farnborough were looking to bounce back from their disappointment in midweek, looking to regain their unbeaten run.

It began well for the travelling team as Joe Haigh, dangerous as ever, floated a ball towards the back post for Alfie Pavey to head just over the bar.

Former Boro man Guy Hollis used his long throw threat against his former team, which was collected well by Turner, looking to release Jonny Stuttle away in a foot race with Slough Player-Manager Scott Davies, who in the eye of the travelling faithful believed to have pulled down Stuttle. However, this was not in the view of Referee Phillip Eddie, as he saw nothing wrong with the challenge.

Josh Jackson was lucky to escape a booking as he pulled down Matty Macarthur, who found his place in the starting eleven after impressing in midweek.

In-form central defender Lexus Beeden, who has proved to be a star recruitment from Spencer Day, made a crucial intervention to deny Johnny Goddard’s dangerous ball into the Farnborough box.

Slough Town escaped another two fouls without a booking, as Jonny Stuttle was fouled twice in quick succession, only to be found to be in an offside position by the Referee’s Assistant.

Alfie Pavey, who has proven to be a nuisance since his return to The Yellows, found the goal to give Farnborough the lead as he found himself eagerly waiting, unmarked and ready to pounce on a cross from Matty Macarthur.

The hosts began to find their way back into the game in the opening exchanges of the second half, and began to look increasingly dangerous on the attack.

Slavi Spasov found himself with a lot of time in the Farnborough box, which he capitalised on with a beautiful curled effort into the far corner to give the hosts an equaliser.

Aaron Kuhl found himself booked by the Referee as he stopped Ogbonna running away to create a chance for the hosts to find a second.

If there was going to be a winner, it was more likely to be Farnborough returning to Hampshire with all three points, as they began to halt the Slough Town pressure

Luciano D’Auria-Henry found himself driving towards the goal protected by Charlie Horlock, who released a strong effort which was very well-saved by the Slough Town stopper.

Yet another challenge on Jonny Stuttle from Scott Davies went unnoticed by the officials, as Jonny finds himself wrestled to the floor, yet no action was done.

It was a big chance for Alfie Pavey to get himself a brace as he was played through by Richard Chin, but his effort was straight at the onrushing Charlie Horlock.

Joe Haigh looked to start a late attack deep in stoppage time, but was halted by the final whistle, meaning Farnborough returned to Hampshire with just a point to show for their efforts.
