NASCAR Team Hendricks Motorsports Is Partnering With Goodyear on Shoe Collection
Star NASCAR team Hendricks Motorsports is taking its relationship with Goodyear to a new level, launching a new shoe collection later this month.
According to SCL Footwear Group, which owns the license for Goodyear footwear, the new collection features six shoe styles that are designed to reflect the colors, numbers, and spirit of the drivers and their race cars.
With a distinct racing-inspired design, the new Goodyear Footwear x Hendrick Motorsports collection is made with lightweight leather, a synthetic performance upper and breathable fabric lining, SCL said.
“As an ongoing relationship with Goodyear Tire and Rubber, SCL Footwear is excited to collaborate with Hendricks Motorsports on our lifestyle racing collection,” Joe Safdeye, executive vice president of SCL Footwear Group, told FN. “The ability to be able to utilize the Hendrick Motorsports, its drivers, car color schemes and the combination of our tire tread inspired outsole, allowed us to get super creative with this collaboration.”
Founded by Rick Hendrick in 1984, Hendrick Motorsports holds the all-time records for championships (14), points-paying race wins (300+) and pole positions (250+). Currently, celebrating its 40th anniversary season, the team is based in Concord, N.C., and fields four full-time Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 entries in the NASCAR Cup Series with drivers Alex Bowman, William Byron, Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson.
The Goodyear Footwear x Hendrick Motorsports shoe collection will launch online at goodyearfootwearusa.com on May 31.
This launch comes just weeks after SCL announced it was expanding the distribution of its Mario Lopez licensed footwear label. According to the company, Mario Lopez shoes are now available in approximately 100 Shoe Carnival stores and online on the retailer’s website.
