Notre Dame fans threw beers on the field to protest Orange Bowl DPI call on Drew Allar INT
Notre Dame fans expressed their anger at a defensive pass interference call during Thursday night’s Orange Bowl by throwing beers onto the field at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
After Penn State quarterback Drew Allar threw a costly interception during the College Football Playoff semifinal’s fourth quarter, the officials waved off Allar’s mistake by flagging Notre Dame safety Adon Shuler for defensive pass interference.
Penn State scored a touchdown shortly after the Shuler penalty.
According to a video from NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, some Notre Dame fans responded to the big call by flinging beers onto the field.
Throwing beers onto the field is not a great way for fans to express their frustration, but it sure didn’t stop these fans.
