The Nets' 6 points in 6 seconds helped a bettor win $26K in the most unlikely way
At this point, the Denver Nuggets, Memphis Grizzlies, and Houston Rockets might be locked in a dead heat for the No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 playoff seeds in the Western Conference.
That’s what had to make the Brooklyn Nets’ stunning 99-97 win over the Rockets on Tuesday night so sweet to Denver and Memphis. Every regular-season win is starting to carry more and more weight as we near the NBA’s stretch run. It’s probably even sweeter for those teams when the Rockets — who held a 97-93 lead with 9.5 seconds to go — blow a sure victory.
They did it by letting Brooklyn’s Keon Johnson nail what should’ve been a meaningless 3-pointer. Except when Amen Thompson tried to inbound the ball after the fact, he panicked and turned the ball right back over to Brooklyn. The Nets’ Tosan Evbuomwan quickly tapped a pass to D’Angelo Russell, who capped one of the most shocking game-winning sequences you’ll see all season with a clutch 3-pointer of his own.
That’s right, folks. The Nets scored six points in six seconds to absolutely steal this win:

But the Nuggets and Grizzlies weren’t the only big winners from Houston’s collapse. A bettor who pieced together a parlay featuring a win from the Boston Celtics, the Portland Trail Blazers, and the New York Islanders in the NHL just needed the Nets to pull off the impossible.
When they did, the better potted a small fortune in the form of over $26,000:
A New York bettor won $26,667.25 on a 4-leg $500 ML parlay yesterday

It goes to show you that every single shot in an NBA game carries a lot of significance — for players and fans.
