The Rocket had a bit of an offensive surge last week, scoring just shy of five goals per game on average. Unfortunately, it didn't amount to much success as they still lost two of their three contests.
After the long Olympic break, the Habs officially kicked off the stretch run with a pair of games to close out February. While they left a point on the table, it was still a strong showing while they gained a bit of ground on those chasing them for a playoff spot.
After losing multiple leads against the Islanders on Thursday, the Habs bounced back nicely against Washington. Cole Caufield had a pair of goals while Jakub Dobes turned aside 27 shots as Montreal picked up the 6-2 win.
