NO CONTEST—Hawaii’s Big Island (aka Hawaii Island). With several accessible resort courses and four daily fee venues on the Kona/Kohala Coast side of the island, a comparison to the other three major islands leaves the others coming up way short.
The lopsidedness of the argument not only extends to the sheer number of courses (10), but to the fact that they are are all somewhat reasonably priced, especially those that participate in the HawaiiGolfDeals’ Big Island GOLFHAWAIICARD (“GHC”) program In fact, with a GHC, you can play five days of unlimited golf at Waikoloa Beach Resort’s 27 holes (two days), Makani GC, Waikoloa Village GC and a PM round at Kona CC for as little as $469 including tax. That’s only $93.82 per-day for unlimited golf with cart and range balls (except at Kona CC).
But there is much more to sustain the argument… The Big Island has the best selection of resort hotels, as well as condo/villa accommodations. In fact, the condo/villa accommodations are also newer, more spacious, better and deliver much more value than higher priced units on Maui and Kauai. Oahu’s condos exist in very limited numbers and are quite pricey.
The Big Island also boasts fantastic weather with very little precipitation, especially on the mostly dry Kona-Kohala Coast, where virtually every day is 82° and mostly sunny. You’ll even be hard pressed to ever don a jacket or long-sleeve shirt in the evening when temps dip into the mid-70s.
And with sensational beaches, incredible dining options (more great savings via our Big Island dining program), an inspired golf club rental program for the duration of your visit, club repair, and some world-class sites and sounds, it’s just “no contest.” Make your #1 golf destination The Big Island, which for very good reasons we call… “The Golf Capital of Hawaii.”
