Rohit Sharma Posters Get No Entry At Wankhede Stadium For Mumbai Indians Vs Rajasthan Royals Tie – WATCH
Hardik Pandya has been a victim of constant booing after replacing Rohit Sharma as Mumbai Indians captain.
Mumbai: In a shocking incident, placards/posters for Rohit Sharma are being allowed no entry inside the Wankhede Stadium during Mumbai Indians’ first home game of IPL 2024 against Rajasthan Royals on Monday. The Rohit loyalists have been booing new captain Hardik Pandya since the day the latter was named the skipper for the ongoing season. Wherever Pandya goes, be it on the field or off the field, booing has been his long-standing companion. Similar visuals were caught on camera in Mumbai too for the last few days in the lead-up to the high-octane clash.
In a video that went viral on social media, fans are seen keeping their placards with slogans for Rohit written on them outside the stadium premises. “Rishte mei to hum tumhaare baap lagte hae, naam hae Rohit Sharma,” read a slogan in one of the placards.
Mumbai Indians are now not allowing poster of Rohit Sharma fans they are now afraid of Rohitians.

Meanwhile, Hardik was booed during the coin toss too. Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar, who was hosting the toss, even asked the Wankhede crowd to ‘behave’. He got booed for the length of his first sentence. “This franchise holds a lot of value and a lot of love from the fans (fans starting booing again but he keeps loud and firm), exciting to be very honest,” he said.
“Slow start doesn’t bother us. We hope to have clarity, keep the mood happy and light. This group is all about that. Looking forward to play a brand of cricket everyone enjoys and gets that two points,” he added. Mumbai Indians are playing with the same team.
On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals brought in Nandre Burger in place of Sandeep Sharma, who is not fit. While Rajasthan Royals have registered two wins so far, Mumbai Indians have lost both their matches to lie at the bottom of the points table.
