'Alien: Romulus' Debuts at No. 1 at the Box Office - Opening Weekend Numbers Revealed!

The latest installment in the classic franchise landed at No. 1 in its opening weekend at the box office.
The movie topped the domestic weekend chart with $45.1 million, well ahead of a projected debut in the upper $20 million range, marking second-best opening of the franchise, not adjusted for inflation, via THR.
The movie commands a 82% Fresh rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and received a B+ CinemaScore, which is nearly the best in the franchise.
Overseas, the movie similarly opened to a better-than-expected $66.7 million for worldwide start of $108.2 million.
The eighth installment in the Alien franchise is set between the events of 1979′s Alien and 1986′s Aliens. It tells the story of young colonists who come across a derelict space station and encounter the horror of the alien creature.
