Will 'The Parent Trap' Ever Get a Sequel? Dennis Quaid Explains Why It Would Be Hard
With Lindsay Lohan filming a sequel to Freaky Friday and the power of nostalgia at the box office, fans might be hoping that the actress revisits another classic – The Parent Trap.

“That would be fantastic,” Dennis said when ET asked about the possibility, adding, “But Natasha. How do we do it without Natasha?”
Natasha Richardson played Lindsay‘s mom in the movie. However, she tragically passed away at the age of 45 in 2009.
The actor noted that the loss of Natasha “still breaks my heart.”
While her absence would make a sequel harder, Dennis left the opportunity open, saying, “You never know.”
“The Parent Trap was like, a whole new career for me. It’s so in my heart. It’s such a beautiful movie,” he reflected. “And I think people will be watching that 100 years from now, I really do.”
Last year, Lindsay reflected on filming with Natasha.
