K-Pop Group NCT Parts Ways With Member Taeil Amid Criminal Accusations
The K-Pop group NCT has parted ways with Taeil, one of its many members, amid accusations that he committed a sexual crime.
The 30-year-old musician was a member of the overarching K-Pop group and participated in one of its subgroups NCT 127.
The band’s label SM Entertainment took to social media to share a statement on the matter.

According to a translation of the statement provided by AP, Taeil was “accused in a criminal case related to a sexual crime.”
“We recognized the seriousness of the issue, and we have decided that Taeil can no longer continue team activities,” they stated. “We have discussed this matter with Taeil, and it has been decided that he will leave the group.”
Taeil is reportedly cooperating with the police amid the ongoing investigation. The exact charges were not revealed, and he did not issue a statement of his own. We’ll update you if we learn more.
Billboard noted that the musician’s bandmates Johnny and Haechan were recently said to be “involved in a sex scandal.” The label “strongly denied” all accusations against them.
The news comes after another member of the group recently made his solo debut.
