Donald Trump is sharing some wild and false claims during his Presidential Debate against Vice President Kamala Harris.
During the debate on Tuesday (Sept. 10), the former president shared a false conspiracy theory first spread by his running mate J.D. Vance that immigrants in Springfield, Ohio are stealing and eating people’s pets.
“In Springfield, they’re eating the dogs, the people that came in, they’re eating the cats,” Trump said. “They’re eating the pets of the people that live there.”
Moderator David Muir then corrected Trump, citing a Springfield official who told him there had been “no credible reports of specific claims of pets being harmed, injured or abused by individuals within the immigrant community.”
However, Trump double down on his false claims, reiterating, “People on television say my dog was taken and used for food.”
After Trump made the comments about immigrants eating dogs and cats, celebs took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to react to his wild claims.
