Olivia Nuzzi No Longer Engaged to Ryan Lizza, He Confirms Amid Her RFK Jr. 'Relationship'

Politico reporter Ryan Lizza is speaking out to clarify his relationship status with Olivia Nuzzi amid the news that she engaged in a “personal relationship” with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Olivia, 31, was put on leave by New York Magazine after admitting to the relationship while she was covering RFK Jr.‘s campaign, but she says there was not a physical relationship.

Ryan, 50, and Olivia previously announced their engagement in September 2023, but he now says they are no longer together.

While he didn’t confirm when they actually split, or why, Ryan referred to Olivia as his “ex-fiancee” while responding to the story about RFK Jr.

“Because of my connection to this story through my ex-fiancée, my editors and I have agreed that I won’t be involved in any coverage of Kennedy in Playbook or elsewhere at POLITICO,” he said in a statement (via Daily Mail).

A rep for RFK Jr. has denied that he had an affair with Olivia.
