'Outlander' Finishes Filming 8th & Final Season, Franchise Star Sam Heughan & More React
Filming has wrapped on the eighth and final season of Outlander, and the cast and crew have some feelings about it!
On Friday (September 27), it was confirmed that the cast was finished filming for the hit Starz series.
The official Outlander account shared the news on social media, and franchise star Sam Heughan also reflected on the monumental day.

“Today marks the final day of filming on the final season of #Outlander. Words cannot express the gratitude owed to each and every hard-working cast and crew member who brought this incredible series to life and every single fan who supports it with passion, creativity, and dedication,” reads a post on the Outlander Instagram account. “Outlander really is more than just a show, it’s a family, and while filming might be ending, there’s so much more to this journey that’s just beginning.”
The post was accompanied by photos of the cast posing with clapperboards, including one of Sam and his costar Catriona Balfe.
Sam shared his own post on Instagram, too.
“11 years. 8 seasons. 101 episodes,” he wrote alongside behind-the-scenes set photos. “What a journey. So many memories, incredible people I have been fortunate to work with and now can call friends. So many people to thank.”
