What Really Happened During Chris Rock's Comedy Set Amid Rumors He Stormed Out of Private Party
There was a report circulating the past few days that Chris Rock stormed out of billionaire Andrew Pratt‘s private holiday party, where he was performing a standup set.
A New York Post account read, “Whatever he saw — or thought he saw — upset him. Like he went momentarily ape and shouted something like he wasn’t supposed to be taped, videoed, reported or whatever else wasn’t supposed to happen. Didn’t complain. Didn’t explain. Didn’t do one more minute. Barrelling quickly, forcefully, through people to the exit doors, he kept bitching loudly and, without a second’s hesitation, stormed out — never to return.”
Now, a source is explaining what happened.

“He didn’t storm off. He did stop performing, but he wasn’t angry. He simply put the mic down and walked away,” the source told People. Guests were filming him, which was against policy.
“People were filming him, and there’s an unspoken rule that you lock up your phone and don’t film during sets. All of the major comedians ask that you don’t film while they’re onstage. It’s just violating protocol,” the insider shared.
Perhaps Chris plans to address this whole issue this coming weekend. Stay tuned!
