'Lanterns' TV Series Casting Updates: 5 Actors Cast In Comic Roles So Far, 1 Star Turned It Down

DC Studios is working on a new Lanterns television series!

Based on the DC Comics, the upcoming new show will be a part of the interconnected DCU and some of the show’s cast has already been revealed.

According to the initial announcement by James Gunn nearly two years ago, Lanterns will be a “big premiere HBO television series” which will tell the “story of a couple of Green Lanterns, Jon Stewart and Hal Jordan, and we have a few other lanterns peppered in there, but this is really a terrestrial based TV show.”

It will be “almost like True Detective, with a couple of Green Lanterns who are space cops watching over Precinct Earth. In it, they discover a terrifying mystery that ties into our largest story of the DCU.”

So far, five actors have been announced to star in the series and one actor has revealed they turned it down.
