John Stamos Reveals Iconic Christmas Role He Auditioned For, Explains Why He Wasn't Cast
John Stamos revealed that he was in the running to play an iconic character in a Christmas movie.
The 61-year-old Full House actor said that he auditioned for Jim Carrey‘s role in How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The iconic movie arrived in 2000 and starred Jim alongside the likes of Taylor Momsen and Christine Baranski.
In a new interview, John explained the simple reason that he did not get the part.

John made an appearance on the ‘Tis the Grinch Holiday Podcast, which cast James Austin Johnson as the Grinch.
“I was originally going to play you in the movie that Jim Carrey got,” John told the character, via People. “Did you know that? I went to the makeup test.”
He continued, revealing what went wrong: “And I was allergic to the, you know, all the prosthetics.”
Jim previously compared filming How the Grinch Stole Christmas to “being buried alive.”
