'American Idol' Alum Steven James Shades Katy Perry Over New Song 'OK'
A former American Idol contestant is criticizing Katy Perry‘s new song.
Earlier this month, the 40-year-old singer released her new album 1432, the deluxe version of her LP 143. The deluxe album features the new track “OK.”
Over the weekend, musician Steven James, who appeared on season 17 of Idol in 2019, shared a blunt message reacting to Katy‘s new song.
Keep reading to find out more…“This can’t be the same person who eliminated me on American Idol 5 years ago,” Steven wrote on TikTok along with a video of himself grimacing while listening to “OK” in his car.
After Steven shared the video, many took to the comments to also shade Katy‘s new song.
“Sounds like a theme song of a pbs kids show,” one person wrote, while another added, “Katy Perry wouldn’t make it past day 1 on American idol.”
