According to TMZ, fire officials have said there is no way to know if the fires were intentionally started, but an investigation is underway.
There are currently several fires in the LA area, the two biggest are the Palisades Fire and the Eaton Fire, which have claimed many homes and businesses. There is also the Sunset Fire, Woodley Fire, Hurst Fire, Lidia Fire and the most recent Kenneth Fire.
The Kenneth Fire broke out near Woodland Hills, Calif., on Thursday (January 9) and that one is believed to be started via arson, and a suspect has already been arrested.
“What we know right now is that the incident occurred, started here, and about 20 minutes, 30 minutes later, a suspect was detained over in the Woodland Hills area by citizens,” LAPD Senior Lead Officer Sean Dinse told News Nation‘s Brian Entin.
The officer then noted that it is believed the person they have in custody started the fire, which has already burned well over 800 acres.
NBC News is also reporting that firefighters have stopped forward progress of the Kenneth Fire.
