Greta Gerwig's 'Chronicles of Narnia' Adaptation Gets Official Release Date, Will Premiere in Imax!

We just got a huge update about Greta Gerwig‘s forthcoming adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia!

If you were unaware, the Barbie director was tapped by Netflix to helm a new retelling of the classic series.

On Friday (January 17), an official release date for the first film was confirmed. We also learned that the movie would premiere in theaters before heading to the streaming platform.

According to reporting by Variety, Greta‘s Narnia film will premiere in Imax on Thanksgiving day, 2026. It’ll run there for two weeks and then premieres on Netflix on Christmas Day, 2026.

Greta‘s adaptation of the series is still cloaked in mystery, and no cast members have been announced yet.

However, one of the director’s frequent collaborators recently confirmed that she had not been tapped to star in the film. Another young actor was rumored to be joining the project; however, the rumors appear to be untrue.
