Sam Heughan Compares Filming New Show 'The Couple Next Door' to Filming 'Outlander'

Sam Heughan is opening up about the differences of filming his two TV shows.

The 44-year-old actor is perhaps most well known for starring in the Starz series Outlander, which is a period piece, and he now currently stars in the contemporary new thriller series, The Couple Next Door, which also airs on the same network.

In a recent interview, Sam compared what it’s like filming the two very different shows and talked about the differences between them.

“It was just a joy to do something completely different,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “It was less time in the makeup chair — and throwing on a T-shirt and jeans is a lot more comfortable than the traditional kilt or jerkin that I normally wear. They each have their merits of course, and it is fun to do historical, but this was definitely a welcome change.”

While season seven of Outlander just ended, Sam isn’t leaving TV screens as The Couple Next Door just debuted and you can watch new episodes on Fridays at 9pm ET/PT on Starz in the US and Canada.
