Adam Lambert Makes Passionate Speech During Birthday Show at 'Cabaret' on Broadway - Watch Now
Adam Lambert used his birthday as a moment to speak up for change this year.
The Grammy-nominated singer is currently starring as the Emcee in Cabaret on Broadway and he was presented with a giant pineapple-shaped birthday cake during the curtain call on Wednesday night (January 29) at the August Wilson Theatre in New York City.
Cast member David Merino led the celebration for Adam‘s birthday and the performance just so happened to be a benefit for Pride Live and the Stonewall National Monument Visitors Center.
“Thank you so, so much. The harmonies were great! That was fabulous,” Adam began his speech after the cast sang “Happy Birthday” to him.

He continued, “Thanks everybody for being here. I am so thrilled to be here on my birthday, doing what I love. I just hope that everybody in the audience tonight learned something tonight. Not to bring it down, but man oh man. I’m an Aquarius and in the spirit of Aquarius, we’re hoping change can happen and it can happen little by little in a place like this. Hopefully some people were awakened tonight. Ask questions. Do research. Read a book!”
Last week, Adam shut down laughter during the show when an antisemitic line was spoken as part of the story.
Adam is starring in Cabaret alongside Auli’i Cravalho through March 29. They will be succeeded in the cast by country music star Orville Peck and Broadway star Eva Noblezada.
