Karla Sofia Gascon Appears to Address Resurfaced Tweet Insulting Costar Selena Gomez
Karla Sofia Gascon appeared to reference a resurfaced social media post that she made about her Emilia Perez castmate, Selena Gomez.
If you were unaware, the 52-year-old Oscar-nominated actress deleted her X (formerly Twitter) account this week after offensive tweets that she posted in previous years resurfaced.
She issued multiple apologies, including a new one on Saturday (February 1). In it, she seemingly referenced a post where she referred to Selena as “a rich rat.”

According to The Latin Times, Karla reposted a story about Selena and Hailey Bieber posing for a photo together at the 2022 Academy Museum Gala.
The translated post reads: “She’s a rich rat who plays the poor b-stard whenever she can and will never stop bothering her ex-boyfriend and his wife.”
It appears that Karla shared the tweet months after it was announced that both she and Selena were in talks to star in Emilia Perez.
She did not directly address the tweet. However, in her most recent apology, Karla wrote that people have “created posts as if it were me insulting even my colleagues.”
She continued, writing, “Things that I wrote to glorify as if they were criticisms, jokes as if they were reality, words that without the background only seem like hate. Everything as long as I don’t win anything and I sink.”
Karla and Selena‘s castmate Zoe Saldana recently weighed in on the tweets.
