'Paradise' on Hulu Shocker: [SPOILER] Killed Off in Episode 4, Actor Reacts to That Twist

Well, we didn’t see THAT twist coming in the latest episode of Sterling K. Brown‘s new series Paradise on Hulu!

Paradise is set in a serene, wealthy community inhabited by some of the world’s most prominent individuals. But this tranquility explodes when a shocking murder occurs and a high stakes investigation unfolds.

We had a hunch early on that some characters might not survive the whole season as some of them main actors are listed as guest stars, but we didn’t expect to see some of them killed off so early into the season!

There was a shocking murder at the end of episode four and it was more surprising who committed it.

Special Agent Billy Pace (played by Jon Beavers) killed off in episode four

FYI: The major twist revealed in episode one is that Paradise takes place in a post-apocalyptic future and is set in an underground city that was built to sustain life, safe from the outside world.

Jon Beavers‘ character Special Agent Billy Pace was killed off at the end of the fourth episode.

We learned at the end of episode three that former President Cal Bradford, who was killed in episode one, thought that Billy was dangerous. Episode four showed us his back story and how he murdered his abusive uncle as a teenager. After being released from prison, he was taken in by an elite task force who wanted to use his aggressive skills for profit.

Billy eventually ended up in Paradise as one of Bradford’s secret service agents.

When Bradford sent explorers out into the real world to inspect the destruction from the apocalyptic event, Sinatra sent Billy with them to make sure they didn’t come back alive. Sinatra instructed Billy to kill them to make it seem like the outside world was uninhabitable, forcing everyone to stay in the underground city.

Billy has been a suspect in Bradford’s murder and in this episode, he told Sinatra that she needs to spare Xavier and his kids, or else he’ll come after her.

Well, Sinatra sent someone else after him first.

Billy’s girlfriend Jane (played by Nicole Brydon Bloom) killed him

Billy’s girlfriend, Special Agent Jane Driscoll, ended up killing him at the end of the episode. She gave him a poisoned beer and watched as he hit the ground and died. She also made it look like an overdose by putting prescription pills on the table.

“You told her to send the biggest motherf—ker she had. I’m it, baby,” Jane said to Billy as he died. She’s really been working alongside Sinatra this whole time and double-crossed Billy.

So, how does Jon feel about Billy’s death?

“I think [Nicole is] so brilliant. She knows that I think that. But I think there’s tremendous performances in this show. And because the writing is so good, every layer that gets peeled back reveals more about the character. And you could probably watch it two, three times and be looking for, ‘Was that true the whole time?’” Jon told Decider.

He added, “I think people are going to pop off the screen. I think everybody’s going to realize how incredible Sterling K. Brown is. I think what Krys Marshall is doing is amazing. But I think Nicole Brydon Bloom is doing f–king — excuse my language — incredibleness. And when you get to that twist, I think you recognize everything she’s been doing the whole time.”

“I think I think Nicole is a genius. So there it is on record,” he said.
