Cynthia Erivo got a text message from a Wicked costar at a very unexpected time – in the middle of her performance at the 2025 Grammys.
The 38-year-old actress participated in a tribute to Quincy Jones and wowed with a rendition of “Fly Me to the Moon” from the stage during Music’s Biggest Night over the weekend.
During an episode of his podcast Las Culturistas, Wicked actor and Saturday Night Live comedian Bowen Yang revealed that he sent her a message as she was belting out the anthem.

“Obnoxiously, I did text her while she was singing, and I said, ‘I think you are unequivocally one of the best vocalists of all time,’” Bowen admitted, via Entertainment Weekly.
He continued praising her, saying, “We were all in a literal thrall. I got my life watching all of it.”
