Jessica Simpson Readies Musical Comeback, Announces New Single Amid Eric Johnson Split
Jessica Simpson is gearing up for a musical comeback amid her split from Eric Johnson, and the first taste arrives later this month!
On Wednesday (February 12), the 44-year-old mogul and pop star took to social media to reveal the impending release of her single “Use My Heart Against Me.” She teased the song and hinted at plans for a long-awaited new album.

Jessica shared a behind-the-scene glimpse at her time in the studio and interviews with some collaborators in a short clip on Instagram. The video also included a snippet of the song.
“Go on, use my heart against me,” Jessica sings in the snippet. “Don’t miss you / Don’t confuse my love.”
“It’s an album where I think you’re seeing someone take control of their own artistry,” a collaborator teased.
The news comes a month after Jessica announced that she and Eric had separated. They were married for 10 years, and she explained the decision in a statement.
Jessica‘s most recent album Happy Christmas arrived in 2010. Her most recent album of original material was 2008′s country tinged Do You Know.
More recently, Jessica performed several songs for her 2020 memoir “Open Book: A Memoir.” However, the music was not released to streaming platforms. The following year, she did drop a very personal cover.
